«What happens with my team is amazing» says Council at www.esake.gr and points out that hard work plays an important role for the team's unbeaten run. The 24 year-old guard explains also that the «key» of the success lies on the team's great atmosphere.
Thus, after being called MVP for the 7th match day, Council was named the MVP of match day 9, after his great performance ( 22 points with 9/12 free throws, 5/9 2pts., 1/3 3pts., 4 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 blocks, 4 steals and 3 turnovers) against AENK Dimoulas at Kifissia with 74-64. The American got 34 ranking points.
- For the second time in three games you are the MVP. How would you explain it?
«I feel very happy to pick up this title for the second time in such a short period. As I have previously explained, my MVP selection is based on team work, as I would have never made it without the help from my teammates and coaches».
- In the previous match day (8th) Faye was named as MVP. For the third consecutive match day, a player from Rethymno earns the MVP title. Again, how would you explain it?
«What happens with my team is really amazing. We achieved three important, consecutive wins and the match day's MVP was from my team. The hard work in training has paid off. I hope that we will continue in the same way».
- The team continues to perform great. Which is the 'key' of success?
«After these wins, Rethymno AEGEAN proved that we are a very good team. The 'key' of the success lies on the team's great atmosphere».
- You and your team are currently in the spotlight. Is that a positive turnout or are you worried that the team cannot bear the 'burden'?
«Recently we have been in the spotlight due to the team's successful performances. I believe this is normal because the team deserves it. It is positive that we turn up through our work. I hope for even greater achievements».
